In the latest episode of “New Heights” featuring co-hosts Jason and Travis Kelce, the NFL star brothers welcomed another pair of star athlete brothers to the show.
Team USA stars Brady and Matthew Tkachuk hopped on the show to discuss the 4 Nations Face-Off, where they finished runner-up to Canada in a 3-2 overtime loss. During their time on the show, the brothers were asked to name the best trash talker in the NHL.
“Who talks the best [expletive on the ice?” the Chiefs tight end asked.
After taking a brief second, Brady made his pick. The Ottawa Senators star didn’t have to think about it too long before naming his older brother as the player who “rattled” him a few years ago.
“I mean Matthew. I know he’s chirped me in a game before and I’m like, ‘oh my god I’m your brother and you just rattled me.’ So I’m giving it to him,” Tkachuk said. “In Calgary when you chirped me, ‘Go hop on the bike,’ like in between periods I’m like, ‘Is my conditioning that bad? I guess I am really struggling out here.'”
Fans loved the Tkachuk brothers getting the spotlight.
“I might be biased because I am a Matthew Tkachuk enjoyer, but this is SO big for the game of hockey,” one person said.
“Like I get why ppl are annoyed but I have to say it, to grow the game in the states these two are prob good guys to do it. They can hold their own on camera, have funny stories etc. we want to grow the game and this kinda thing does that,” offered another.
“That chirp left scars deeper than a skate blade,” offered a third.
The younger Tkachuk brother is still reeling from his older brother’s slight.
