Chicago Sky Coach Shares Critical Chennedy Carter Injury Update After Seventh Straight Loss.
The Chicago Sky have gotten themselves into a deep hole. On Tuesday, September 3, the Sky suffered their seventh consecutive loss after falling to A’ja Wilson and the two-time defending champions, Las Vegas Aces, 90-71.
Weatherspoon has a lot of faith in her group but at the same time, she also knows that their recent struggles can be attributed to the fact that they don’t have arguably their best player available.
Chennedy Carter has been out of action for quite some time now after entering the league’s health and safety protocols. Tuesday’s loss to the Aces was Carter’s fourth straight game on the sidelines, and there’s no denying that Chicago has missed her services as well as the 17.2 points she delivers every night.

The good news for the Sky is that Carter looks on track to return in their next game, which is a home matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday, September 6. According to Weatherspoon, Carter is trending toward that direction.
“We’re looking forward to having her back,” Weatherspoon responded when asked if Carter will be back for Chicago’s next contest. “That’s what we expect and we’ll see when we get home and be able to get more hands-on of where she is. It’ll be great to have her back.”
There is no guarantee that Carer will be back on the floor when the Sky hosts the Sparks, but it is clear that Weatherspoon is optimistic.
She knows more than anyone that her team needs their star guard back as soon as possible. Chicago is now sitting on an 11-22 record and is barely clinging on to the eighth and final playoff seed in the WNBA.
