BREAKING: Vice President JD Vance is set to visit the University of Georgia next month. WHAT WE KNOW
BREAKING: VP JD Vance will come to UGA Erika Kirk for campus event for group founded by Charlie Kirk
Vice President JD Vance is heading to the University of Georgia (UGA) in Athens next month for a high-profile speaking event, marking one of his first major campus appearances since taking office in the Trump administration.
The visit is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., and it’s part of the Turning Point Tour organized by Turning Point USA (TPUSA), the conservative youth organization founded by Charlie Kirk. The UGA event will be hosted by the university’s active TPUSA chapter, one of five stops on a national college tour aimed at engaging students with conservative ideas and speakers.

Vance will be joined by Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk, for what organizers are billing as a major “This Is the Turning Point” rally. Tickets are free and available through the official TPUSA event page (links circulating on social media and news reports). The UGA TPUSA chapter posted excitedly on Instagram: “DAWGS ‼️‼️ THIS IS OUR TURNING POINT. We’re excited to welcome Vice President JD Vance & Erika Kirk to campus on Tuesday, April 14th! 🎤🔥 4/14. 6:30 PM. Get READY. 🇺🇸”
This comes amid a busy political landscape for the Vice President. Some outlets, like The Daily Beast, noted the timing with a sarcastic spin—pointing out Vance has been relatively quiet on foreign policy issues (like ongoing Middle East developments) while stepping into a campus debate-style event. Vance himself posted about being “Excited to visit the University of Georgia next month for another Turning Point event in the SEC!”—referencing the Southeastern Conference, where UGA’s Bulldogs dominate football and school spirit runs high.
The appearance underscores TPUSA’s continued push to build conservative networks on college campuses, especially in red-leaning states like Georgia. UGA, a flagship public university with a massive student body, offers a prime stage for Vance to connect directly with young voters, discuss administration priorities, and rally support ahead of future midterms or policy pushes.
No specific topics have been announced yet, but expect themes around free speech, economic opportunity, cultural issues, and critiques of “woke” campus culture—hallmarks of both Vance’s messaging and TPUSA events. Security will likely be tight given the Vice President’s status, and the event could draw both enthusiastic supporters and potential protesters typical of high-profile political visits to college towns.
