Breanna Stewart knows that Team USA’s loss to Team WNBA in this weekend’s All-Star Game can ultimately be a good thing for the team’s goal at the Paris Olympics.

The team representing the United States at this month’s Summer Games fell to the WNBA All-Stars in Saturday’s game. Speaking to reporters after the game, the New York Liberty star said it was disheartening for them to give up so many points in the 117-109 loss but saw it as a wake-up call.

Stewart then offered a three-word directive to the team — “keep moving forward.”

“Just kind of take this one on the chin and keep moving forward knowing that we don’t want to peak too soon and we can improve on a lot,” Stewart said, adding that the team was excited to head overseas and focus on their ultimate goal of taking home another gold medal.

A’Ja Wilson echoed the sentiment, saying the loss would help Team USA “tremendously” as they don’t get too many pre-Olympic opportunities like the All-Star Game to test themselves. Wilson said the team would get a chance to break down the game film and “focus on how we can continue to be better.”
