Brittney Griner’s New Look Is Turning Heads
Late Monday night, Brittney Griner and the Phoenix Mercury will travel to New York City to face the top team in the league, Sabrina Ionescu and the New York Liberty.
Griner and Diana Taurasi both earned another Olympic gold medal at the 2024 Paris Games, but since the WNBA’s return, the Mercury have been up and down, winning three out of their five games. The Liberty, who were the first team to clinch a spot in the WNBA playoffs, will present Phoenix with one of their toughest tests of the season.

Prior to the game, the Mercury posted a photo of Griner during practice rocking a new hairstyle.
Griner seems to have transitioned away from her curly hairdo, which she had been sporting throughout the season and is returning to her previous locs hairstyle.
Mercury and WNBA fans loved Griner’s new look and took to social media to voice their opinions.
“BG got a new look”
“protective style BG is back let’s go >>>> I will miss the loose curl fro tho”
“LOC COMEBACK !?!”
“are the locs coming back?????”
Griner has played in 20 games this season, averaging 18.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists. She missed the Mercury’s first ten games of the season with a foot injury but has made an impact since her return.
