Caitlin Clark, the star basketball player for the University of Iowa, recently demonstrated that her kindness extends well beyond the basketball court. While stopping at a local McDonald’s, Clark had an encounter with a cashier that would leave an unforgettable impression on everyone involved.
The incident unfolded when Clark, who was grabbing a quick meal after a long practice session, overheard a conversation between the cashier and a customer. The cashier, a young woman, was discussing how she couldn’t afford to buy a gift for her daughter’s upcoming birthday. Despite her best efforts, the financial strain of supporting her family had left her without the means to buy something special for her little girl.
Clark, who had been quietly waiting in line, couldn’t help but be moved by the cashier’s situation. As the woman finished her transaction, Clark approached her and gently tapped her on the shoulder. In that moment, the basketball star, known for her fierce competitiveness on the court, showed a completely different side of herself—one filled with compassion and empathy.
“I couldn’t help but hear what you said,” Clark began. “Let me help you out. I know how important those moments with your kids are.”
With that, Clark pulled out her wallet and handed the cashier a generous amount of cash to cover the cost of the gift. The cashier, stunned and tearful, thanked Clark profusely, unable to fully process the unexpected act of kindness.
The story quickly spread on social media, with fans praising Clark not only for her athletic ability but for her heartfelt desire to help others. In a world that often feels divided, Caitlin Clark’s gesture reminded us all that a little bit of kindness can go a long way.
Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend Connor McCaffery can’t get his head on straight and enters a downward spiral that could have unexpected consequences
Butler have struggled in Big East play this year.
While Caitlin Clark’s popularity continues to take her to new highs in the basketball world, boyfriend Connor McCaffery isn’t experiencing the same success.
The Butler Bulldogs, the team which McCaffery serves as an assistant coach for, fell to their eighth consecutive defeat on Wednesday night, losing a 84-65 contest to Providence.
Adding to the disappointment is the fact the defeat was their fifth straight in Big East action. It also moves them one step closer to their all-time losing streak of 12 games which was set back in the 1980-01 season.
The defeat means Butler now sit with DePaul as the only Big East team yet to secure a conference win this season, and their last victory overall came back on December 3 against Eastern Illinois.
With a game against Creighton coming up this weekend, Butler’s losing streak will likely continue on a little longer, though upcoming games against Seton Hall and DePaul gives them an opportunity to end their torrid run.
Frustrated fans beginning to lose patience
It’s no surprise that Butler fans are beginning to become frustrated with how this season is playing out.
While the play of Jahmyl Telfort has been a bright spot, supporters have voiced their frustrations with most of the team and Thad Matta’s coaching staff.

During the recent defeat against Providence, Telfort was forced to leave the game with a back injury in the first half, and despite several opportunities to cut into the lead, the came up short.
Some have pointed to Caitlin Clark’s earlier influence as a lucky charm no longer being in play anymore. She was spotted at Carnesecca Arena for the game against St. John’s while wearing a Butler cap, but that wasn’t enough to stop the Bulldogs from falling 70-62
