Caitlin Clark has been warned she should avoid being seen with Taylor Swift after they were spotted together at Saturday’s clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Houston Texans.

Swift, who is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, made her usual high-profile entrance at Arrowhead Stadium, and ended up taking a seat next to WNBA sensation Clark. The pair chatted all game and even hugged when Kelce scored a touchdown during the Chiefs’ 23-14 victory.

While fans of both Clark, 22, and Swift, 35, were thrilled about the new-found camaraderie, Skip Bayless, the former Fox Sports commentator, wasn’t quite as impressed. He took to social media to offer some advice, urging the Indiana Fever youngster to focus on herself rather than rubbing shoulders with celebrities.

“Wait, Caitlin Clark is up in the Arrowhead box with Taylor Swift??? Caitlin, you don’t need to be seen with her,” Bayless wrote on X. “You’re bigger than she is. Just stay on your own path.”

Clark is a big Swift fan, having attended consecutive ‘Eras Tour’ concerts at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis last year. The WNBA Rookie of the Year also had the opportunity to meet Kelce and even talk with Swift’s mother, Andrea Swift, according to TIME Magazine.

“People are just going crazy that I’m there,” Clark said. “I thought people would be so in their own world, ready to see Taylor. And it was just completely the opposite.”

Clark also claimed that Swift promised to catch her in action with the Fever next season and even extended an invite for Clark to join her at a Chiefs game. Clark took Swift up on the offer, but only after rejecting an offer to play in Unrivaled, a new 3-on-3 women’s basketball league co-founded by WNBA stars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart.

Unrivaled kicked off last Friday, showcasing WNBA talents like Angel Reese and DiJonai Carrington on the court. Despite being tempted with a cool $1million to play in their eight-week inaugural season, Clark opted out, preferring some downtime during the WNBA break.

“I didn’t rule out doing it in the future, but this year is just not the best for me,” Clark admitted. “It’s going to be good for me to do my own thing and have my own space. I kind of want to just stay out of the spotlight.”

Clark left Iowa as a college basketball legend, and after being selected first overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft and dominating in the league, her popularity has reached new heights. Clark may have missed out on the inaugural Unrivaled season, but didn’t appear too upset when hanging out with Swift.
