Caitlin Clark’s latest WNBA honor has fans split all over social media
Caitlin Clark reacts to WNBA honor ahead of Fever game against Tempo
The Indiana Fever are on a three-game winning streak, thanks to the significant contributions of their superstar, Caitlin Clark, over the past week.
Extending back to June 8, the team defeated Washington, Chicago, and Connecticut, with their overtime win against the Sky featuring a near triple-double performance from Clark.
During that past week, Clark averaged 25.3 points, 6.7 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game, also making 49% of her field goals and 38.5% of her 3-point shots.
It should come as no surprise that Clark earned her first WNBA Player of the Week award due to her impressive performances and statistics.

The WNBA and Fever revealed she was last week’s Eastern Conference Player of the Week, sharing her recent averages and stats in a social media post.
Clark was particularly impressive in her team’s overtime win, 114-106, over the Sky. She played 40 minutes, scored 32 points, dished out 10 assists, and grabbed seven rebounds.
It’s her first time winning the award in a while, as she didn’t have any last season due to her unfortunate injuries, and claimed Player of the Week honors thrice in her rookie season.
At Indiana’s latest team practice, head coach Stephanie White also took a moment on the court to inform the team that “CC was named WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week.”
Clark reacted to that honor by making a “hang ten” surfer gesture with her hand several times and showing it to all of her teammates, who applauded and cheered for her.

There’s been much made about some sort of division within the Fever players or a fractured coach and player relationship involving White and Clark. That hasn’t appeared to be the case as they’ve been winning games.
Clark enters Tuesday night’s game against the Toronto Tempo as “probable” due to an ongoing back injury. Her teammate, rookie Raven Johnson, is also “questionable” on the injury report due to an ankle injury she suffered.
That said, this Fever team has been hot, with their only loss coming to a hotter team, the New York Liberty, who have won seven straight games and clinched their spot to compete for the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup.
