Caitlin Clark’s most realistic return date has been outlined following her absence in Sunday’s clash against the Chicago Sky.
Fortunately for the Indiana Fever, Clark was hardly missed as they picked up an easy win.
However, according to reports, the former Iowa guard could be out for a few more weeks following a groin injury that has kept her sidelined since July 15. Clark has missed four consecutive games due to this latest setback, bringing her total to 13 absences for the season.
Fever head coach Stephanie White indicated that the player is day-to-day, but ESPN reports that she might not be back until mid-August.
Holly Rowe, who was on the Fever-Sky broadcast on Sunday, explained that the team will be more cautious with Clark this time, making the third week in August her most realistic return date, based on the team’s schedule.

Rowe indicated that the Fever will afford Clark time to practice with her teammates and get into rhythm, something she didn’t get to do previously.
“This time, they’re going to make sure she has time and practices to get rhythm and time with her teammates,” she said.
“As you look at their schedule, the third week in August provides a few more practice days where that seems like it’s realistic,” Rowe added. “While she does remain day-to-day, that’s seems like a better timetable for a possible Caitlin Clark return.”
Indiana is heading into a busy period that will see them play five games over the span of 11 days. The schedule will get a bit lighter in mid-August, with one game to play between August 16 and August 22.
Clark is still traveling with the Fever and watched them beat the Sky 93-78 on Sunday afternoon. Her rival Angel Reese also missed the game with a back injury.
