On Friday night, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever will face Cameron Brink and the Los Angeles Sparks for the first time in the 2024 WNBA season.

In the upcoming game, we’ll witness a showdown between the top draft pick from Iowa and the second overall pick from Stanford as they face off for the first time in the WNBA. These two remarkable women’s basketball players never crossed paths during their college careers.

Before the draft in April, Brink discussed with reporters Clark’s influence on women’s basketball. These remarks have gained attention again on social media in anticipation of Friday’s game.

“Caitlin really does everything. I think a little bit of everything and that’s what makes her so special,” Brink said, “You watch her and you’re like ‘she’s really a generational talent.’ We just have to thank her. She’s brought so much to the women’s game and she’s going to continue doing that.”

The full interview was posted online by Iowa Hawkeyes reporter Blake Hornstein.

“Cameron Brink took a moment to talk winning DPOY & her friend Caitlin Clark winning the Naismith”

The Clark vs. Brink showdown will be on Friday, May 24, at 10:00 PM EST in Los Angeles.
