Chennedy Carter is on the rise, and so the Chicago Sky made sure to warn the rest of the WNBA about it.
After Carter propelled the Sky to the 93-85 win over the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday, the Sky took to X (formerly Twitter) to heap praise on their veteran guard and alert the whole league about how lethal she can be.
Against the Aces, Carter exploded for 34 points on 14-of-24 shooting while adding four rebounds, two assists and three steals. The 25-year-old outplayed two-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson, who had 28 points and 14 boards.
“Doubt [Chennedy Carter] at your own risk. (Pro tip: that’s not a smart idea to doubt her),” the Sky wrote along with a photo showing Carter’s stats from the game and a video of some of her highlights.
The Sky have every reason to brag about Chennedy Carter. After all, the fourth overall pick of the 2020 WNBA Draft has been sensational this 2024 season.
Carter entered Tuesday’s game averaging 16.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting 51.3 percent from the field. In the last 10 outings prior to the Aces showdown, Carter was actually putting up 20.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.6 steals. It would have been higher had she not played just 15 minutes against the New York Liberty.
Regardless, it’s safe to say Carter has established herself as one of the most dangerous scorers in the game this 2024 campaign.
