Christie Sides Facing Serious Backlash for Questionable Lineup Decision in Fever-Dream.

The Indiana Fever are closing in on their final stretch of games, and every single one is vital as they try to end a seven-year playoff drought.

However, the focal point continues to be around questionable decision-making from Fever head coach Christie Sides. Many believed that Sides would make a change to the starting lineup Monday night after the team lost to the Minnesota Lynx on Saturday night, but she thought otherwise and is facing serious backlash because of it.

On Saturday, Lexie Hull, Temi Fagbenle, and Damiris Dantas all played more minutes off the bench than NaLyssa Smith and Katie Lou Samuelson; however, Sides wasn’t ready to make a change despite Samuelson and Smith combining for two points on 1-8 shooting.

“No, the players that are out there on the floor are being productive in the moment and that changes night to night. The big goal is to win.” Sides said.

After Hull played 25 minutes off the bench, some fans were expecting her to take the step forward into the starting lineup, and after the lineup was released Monday night, they let Christie Sides hear it.

“The follow-up question should have been well what game were you watching. Sides is the worst kind of coach. Has to be forced to make changes,” one fan said.

“How is KLS better than Lexie???????” another said.

One more fan responded, “She’s the worst HC in the league.”

Despite the criticism, Sides still has the Fever well within the playoff race, and over the next month her future with the team could be decided.
