She played college basketball for the Iowa Hawkeyes and is regarded as one of the greatest collegiate players of all time.
Caitlin Clark shattered Diana Taurasi’s WNBA theory in the coolest way ever
Taurasi predicted college basketball to beat the peak of a WNBA pro’s career

Caitlin Clark seems to be destroying Diana Taurasi‘s WNBA theory that players peak in college as she continues to become more and more popular with each passing day with the Indiana Fever.
The 22-year-old shattered the NCAA women’s and overall points record with the Iowa Hawkeyes in 2024 and sold out venues across the United States and has soundly carried that momentum into her professional career.
The Rookie of the Year and first draft pick laid down new records for viewership across the year, culminating in some 2.5 million people tuning in to watch her and the Fever take on the Connecticut Sun in a must-win WNBA Playoffs First Round Game 2 match.
That was around 800,000 more than the people who tuned in to watch Game 1 and 1.4 million more than her regular season average, which was around triple that of the rest of the WNBA’s average of 394,000.
Her influence is so great that Taurasi‘s theory she would slowly be forgotten has been firmly discarded and even the NBA is looking to Clark‘s momentum to save their own sport by promoting stars such as Devin Booker and Anthony Edwards to try to foster a cult of personality.
That’s because the league is preparing for the likes of Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Steph Curry to finally bow out at the end of their careers, although they proved they’ve still got it after guiding Team USA to the gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games.

Caitlin Clark is not just limited to her logo threes in basketball either as she proves her capability as a multi-sport athlete by heading to the green and fairway of golf for a Pro-Am tournament.
She will compete in the Annika driven by Gainbridge from November 12, and already, the Golf Channel is capitalizing on the hype by expanding their Golf Today show to feature her warm-ups and in-round competitions and highlights, looking to use that momentum for profits.
