Paige Bueckers was only a spectator at last night’s WNBA Draft, but the UConn star still managed to make her presence felt.
Bueckers was seen supporting teammates Aaliyah Edwards and Nika Mühl, both of whom were first-round picks.
Video of a proud Bueckers filming as her friends were drafted has been going viral since last night.
It also sparked plenty of positive feedback on social media.
“Paige Bueckers looks like a proud mom recording Aaliyah Edwards and Nika Mühl get drafted,” said the WNBA Got Game X/Twitter account.
“Paige Bueckers “proud mom” meme has arrived,” another WNBA fan page said.
“How can you not like Paige Bueckers? She deserves good things in life,” added political commentator Bakari Sellers.

“Paige Bueckers was the MVP of the Draft. Every time we saw her, she was having a good time and being so supportive!
This is the one you cut up with at events. Looked amazing while doing it too!” a fan chimed in.
“A wholesome Paige Bueckers and Aaliyah Edwards moment at the WNBA Draft,” said another commenter, including video of the pair celebrating together.
Injuries set back Bueckers’ college career, but she turned in a strong 2023-24 season.
During the 2024-25 campaign, Bueckers will be among the top players in the country, and come next April, she will be one of the players hearing their name called at the WNBA Draft.
