Rumors have been swirling across social media about WNBA star Angel Reese allegedly becoming an official Barbie ambassador with her own signature doll. However, after a thorough fact check, the truth is clear: Mattel, the company behind Barbie, has confirmed that no such deal exists with Angel Reese at this time.
Despite several online claims and viral posts, there has been no official announcement from Barbie or Mattel recognizing Reese as a brand ambassador or confirming the release of a doll in her likeness. In fact, Mattel has directly addressed the speculation, stating that no official collaboration or endorsement deal has been made with the Chicago Sky forward.
This clarification comes on the heels of a rising online debate, as Angel Reese appeared to embrace the narrative that she had secured a coveted Barbie partnership—despite a lack of verifiable confirmation. Critics argue that Reese has been misleading her fanbase by not correcting the rumor and instead using it to boost her public image.

The timing is particularly notable, as Caitlin Clark—Reese’s high-profile on-court rival—has reportedly been nominated to become the first female athlete to receive an official Barbie Ambassador doll. Clark’s nomination is seen as a major cultural milestone, further solidifying her role as a breakout figure in women’s sports and media.
For some fans, the Barbie news only highlights the growing contrast between Clark’s career trajectory and Reese’s recent controversies. While both players are talented and influential in their own right, critics say that Reese’s apparent exaggeration of her Barbie affiliation may reflect a deeper frustration with being outshined by Clark’s rising influence.
To be clear: Angel Reese does not currently have a Barbie doll, nor is she an official ambassador for the brand. While this doesn’t rule out a future partnership, as of now, the claim is false.
As the WNBA season continues to heat up—both on and off the court—fans and media alike are being urged to separate facts from fiction and to hold public figures accountable for the narratives they choose to promote.
Stephanie White Breaks Silence About Caitlin Clark News
Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever were set for a back-to-back against the Los Angeles Sparks and Dallas Wings.
While the hype surrounded a potential matchup between Clark and Paige Bueckers in the team’s first matchup against the Wings, a game against the Sparks came first.
The Fever were hosting the Sparks on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET.

Despite the excitement leading up to the upcoming schedule, Fever fans were hit with bad news.
On Thursday, hours before the Fever’s matchup against the Sparks, Caitlin Clark had been ruled out with a groin injury.
After the news was released, Fever head coach Stephanie White spoke on the unfortunate situation for Indiana.
“Late last night,” White said, per Chloe Peterson. “I think it’s very much a day-to-day thing, how she responds to treatment. I stay in my lane and let our strength and conditioning and our AT staff do what they do best.”
When asked about Caitlin Clark’s availability for the Indiana Fever’s matchup against the Dallas Wings on Friday, the second night of a back-to-back, White revealed that there may be hope, given Clark’s injury history.
“C’s shown that she’s tough and she’s a quick healer, so we’ll see,” White said.

Caitlin Clark previously missed time with a quadriceps injury. Despite missing five previous games this season, Clark is in line to become an All-Star for the second straight season.
In her first year with Stephanie White on the sideline, Clark has posted 18.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game.
