Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, was at courtside on Friday to watch the highly anticipated game between the Indiana Fever and the Minnesota Lynx. Indiana has been arguably the best team since the Olympic break but it faced one of this year’s legitimate championship contenders. The Fever got off to a fast start, outscoring the Lynx 27-19 in the first 10 minutes of the game.
Minnesota, as expected, refused to wilt under the pressure of the host team. Despite playing against a hostile crowd, Napheesa Collier and Co. methodically clawed back into the game. Early in the second quarter, the Lynx played with more pace and energy to turn the tables on the Fever.
The Lynx pulled to within four points before Caitlin Clark’s smooth five-foot floater gave the Fever more breathing room. Clark’s one-handed shot was captured by Bri Lewerke, a freelance sports photographer and shared on Instagram.

Gainbridge Fieldhouse has been rocking this season in support of the Indiana Fever and Caitlin Clark. The atmosphere and the noise are expected to increase when the Fever hosts a playoff game for the first time in seven years. Clark has been the biggest reason the team will play past the regular season for the first time in years.
Indiana’s playoff opponent hasn’t been decided yet as the Minnesota Lynx and the Connecticut Sun are in a tough battle for the No. 2 seed. The third-ranked team will face off against the Fever, who will likely end up in the sixth spot in the playoffs.
