Sania Feagin Makes LA Sparks Opening Day Roster; Dawn Staley Shares Her Pride
Sania Feagin, a former standout forward from the University of South Carolina, has earned a spot on the Los Angeles Sparks’ opening day roster for the 2025 WNBA season.
Her former coach, Dawn Staley, expressed deep pride in Feagin’s growth and determination, emphasizing the strides she made during her collegiate career.

Starting with limited minutes in her early seasons, Feagin developed into a key contributor by her senior year.
She averaged 8.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game, earning her a place on the SEC All-Defensive Team and recognition as a semifinalist for a national position award.
Reflecting on her journey, Staley noted Feagin’s steady improvement and mental toughness. “Feagin’s trajectory has gone up, up, up each year. She remembers not playing very much her first two years.
Then last year, she played a little bit more. Then, this year, she grew into just being a mainstay. Her mentality’s changed. And I do probably think she fights with herself every single practice to play at her standard. Once she does, she’s a big difference maker,” Staley said.
Although Feagin didn’t take the court in the Sparks’ season opener against the Golden State Valkyries, her place on the roster reflects the team’s belief in her potential.
Team leadership commended her adaptability, work ethic, and willingness to learn—qualities that made her stand out during training camp.
Feagin’s path to the professional level underscores her persistence and the strong foundation built under Staley’s guidance.
With two NCAA championships under her belt and a drive to excel, she now begins an exciting new chapter in her basketball journey with the WNBA.
