Jason Statham Kicked Off The View After Heated Clash With Joy Behar.
What happens when Jason Statham, Hollywood’s no-nonsense action star known for speaking bluntly and never backing down, joins The View to debate Joy Behar on whether celebrities have failed as role models?
The segment started like any other lighthearted morning chat—until Jason made it clear he wasn’t there to charm anyone. With Whoopi Goldberg trying to keep things civil, Sunny Hostin probing thoughtfully, and Joy firing off her trademark sarcasm, the mood turned electric. Jason wasn’t laughing. He leaned in, calling out the hypocrisy of fame itself—how too many celebrities preach values they don’t live by.
Joy pushed back, saying stars shouldn’t be held responsible for how others behave. “They’re entertainers, not babysitters,” she quipped. But Jason didn’t flinch. His voice stayed calm, his stare sharp. “If you’ve got millions watching you,” he said, “you don’t get to shrug off the influence that comes with it.”
The crowd roared. Half cheered him. Half booed. What followed wasn’t just another talk show argument—it was a raw, uncomfortable look at the gap between image and integrity in modern fame.
By the end, the debate had stopped being about Hollywood altogether—it became a question every viewer had to ask themselves: who are we really following, and why?
Jason Statham’s Underrated Action Film That’s Begging for a Sequel Lands a New Streamer

Makuochi Echebiri is a News Writer for Collider. He has been interested in creative writing from as far back as high school, and he would consume pretty much anything that’s film or TV. However, his truest love lies in the presence of historical epics and thrillers.
Lured by the brilliance of Middle Earth from an early age both in print and on screen, his palate has since expanded to other realms including Westeros, Kattegat among others. He also possesses a great appetite for the stories that emanate from the vastness of space. Even though he is no Avenger.
Obsessed with storytelling and having works of his own that have yet to make it to print, he is content to use that ability to communicate to as many as are reachable. In his spare time, he looks out for avenues where he can aid people aside from his plans to reign over this earthly realm. Yes…you heard that first here.
Sure, Wrath of Man seemed to end neatly, but who says revenge stories ever really end? (Hello, John Wick.) Beyond the creative possibilities, there’s a strong business case for a sequel, and it’s surprising that its makers haven’t capitalized on that yet. The film remains Ritchie and Statham’s most commercially successful collaboration to date. A feat that is even more staggering when you consider its release came during the pandemic, when even big-name blockbusters were merely breaking even. With a $40 million budget, Wrath of Man earned $104 million. By contrast, their follow-up, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre (2023), couldn’t replicate that success, grossing just under its $50 million budget.

Statham loved making Wrath of Man, once sharing in an interview that “it took him 30 seconds to say yes” to the role because of the premise, which he confessed to really liking because it fused his personal favorites — revenge and heist. Sounds like he’d be more than down for Round 2. That premise sees Statham as a mysterious cash-truck guard who shocks his co-workers when a robbery turns deadly and his hidden skills come to the surface. Soon, his ultimate motive of settling a score becomes clear. And once Statham’s in revenge mode, there’s no going back.
What Is Jason Statham Doing Next?
There’s plenty more Statham action to look forward to soon enough. Up next is Shelter from Greenland director Ric Roman Waugh, scheduled to hit theaters on January 30, 2026. Then there’s Mutiny from Plane director Jean-François Richet, which just got its release date bumped up to August 21, 2026. Meanwhile, Statham is back on set for The Beekeeper 2, with acclaimed Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto taking over directing duties from David Ayer. The plot for the sequel remains under wraps for now, but more updates are expected soon, given Tjahjanto has begun teasing what’s to come.
