Kamilla Cardoso DESTROYS Angel Reese As Chicago Sky BLOWS MASSIVE Lead & LOSES AGAIN!

Angel Reese of WNBA Chicago Sky just experienced a reality check, not from an opponent, but from her own teammate, Kamilla Cardoso of WNBA Chicago Sky, in a moment that left fans wincing.

One glaring play, a notably quiet bench, and suddenly Reese transitioned from being the focal point to recording another inconsequential double-double in a loss against a struggling Phoenix Mercury team.

This isn’t merely about a single game. It all culminated in Phoenix, resulting in a significant breakdown in team cohesion.

Heading into the Chicago Sky’s matchup with the Sparks, rumors on social media spread that Cardoso could be displeased with how Reese played in a loss to the New York Liberty. During pregame, however, it appeared all was well between the two as they shared laughs and smiles together.

The smiles quickly dissipated in the loss, with Cardoso saddled with early foul trouble, limiting her playing time in the first half. Once the second half rolled around, Cardoso scored eight of her 12 total points on 4-of-5 shooting from the field but by the time she had gotten comfortable, the game, in essence, was over.

Speaking to reporters after the loss, Reese spoke on Cardoso’s foul trouble and how she and the rest of Chicago tried to get more involved despite having to deal with playing the game more cautiously, as opposed to if she had not gotten three fouls in the first half.

“Yeah, I think it was a little tough because she was in a lot of foul trouble, but we tried to look for her the best that we could,” the 23-year-old star said of Cardoso. “I think she finished well when she was in there and when she had an opportunity down the stretch.”

Her 12 points and three rebounds against Los Angeles were both season highs, along with her five fouls accrued, while Reese finished with 13 points. Courtney Vandersloot was the only other Sky player to score in double figures, with the two-time WNBA champion putting in 11 points of her own.

Sky head coach Tyler Marsh spoke to reporters after the loss and detailed what the game plan was as Chicago looked to turn their season around. “I think our guards also kind of made it a point to attack downhill into games in the paint,” he explained.

“It’s an area that we felt like coming into this game that we could use to our advantage in different ways, and so I think 50 points in the paint is something that we want to continue to see and figure out how we’re able to utilize that. Both our bigs and our guards are able to do that, and so, yeah, it was a point of emphasis coming into it.”

Marsh also spoke on how the team is slowly putting together an offense that works in all facets, not just one that either works as a paint dominant scheme or one relying on 3-pointers.
