Former LSU Tiger and current Chicago Sky rookie has impressed everyone in her first WNBA season.

Both Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark had standout seasons, captivating fans and drawing significant attention to women’s college basketball. Clark’s impressive performances earned her the Rookie of the Year award, but Mulkey’s comments shed light on her perspective on Reese’s contributions.

During a press conference, Mulkey stated, “Angel is always ROTY in my eyes. She’s a phenomenal player and a key part of our success.”

Her words resonate not only as praise but also as a reminder of the dedication and hard work Reese displayed throughout the season. Mulkey’s belief in her player goes beyond individual accolades, reflecting a broader appreciation for team dynamics and the spirit of competition.

Reese’s former LSU coach also took to X on Tuesday night to share a message about Reese’s accomplishments after first WNBA season.

“11th straight double-double @WNBA Rookie of the Year”, Mulkey wrote.

Fans are expressing their excitement about Mulkey showing her former player love.

“Mommy, @KimMulkey, I think we have to get an Angel Reese statue at LSU. She’s representing LSU out there and putting LSU on the map,” one fan wrote in a reply.

“Congratulations to you too coach! You came into Angel’s life at the right time, instilled discipline and pulled out her gifts and talents,” said another.

The relationship between Reese and Mulkey has clearly continued, despite Reese no longer being in Baton Rouge.
