Katherine Marchand took to her Instagram story to share a picture of Brad Marchand sporting his Florida Panthers jersey for the first time. Along with the photo, she added a short but significant caption, marking the start of his new journey with the team.
Katherine expressed her excitement by posting “LFG” on her Instagram story, a common phrase meaning “let’s f***ing go.” She also shared adorable photos of their daughter and son proudly wearing Florida Panthers jerseys with Marchand’s number 63, showing their support for his new journey. The heartfelt gesture highlighted the family’s enthusiasm as Marchand embarked on this next chapter of his career.
Brad Marchand received a warm welcome from Panthers fans, earning loud cheers during warmups and his lineup introduction. Playing his first NHL game outside of Boston after 16 seasons and 1,248 total games, he debuted on Florida’s second line with Sam Bennett and Mackie Samoskevich. Marchand contributed immediately, assisting on the overtime winner in the Panthers’ 2-1 victory over Utah. Head coach Paul Maurice praised his experience and all-around game.
“He’s had an incredible career. He’s a Stanley Cup champion, 1,000 games, 1,000 penalty minutes, lots of points. I don’t want to see it all in one game…” Maurice said. (per Sportsnet) You know how tenacious this guy is, how physical he is, how hard he plays. Then you get him in practice and you’re like, ‘Oh my God, he’s got hands on him.’ And you start to realize how good the skill level is there.”
Marchand’s strong debut set the tone for his new chapter in Florida, showcasing his playmaking skills and leadership. With an assist on the game-winning goal and an enthusiastic reception from fans, he proved to be a valuable addition to the Panthers. As he settles into his new role, his experience and competitiveness are expected to be key assets for the team moving forward.
