Milaysia broke down in tears, her voice trembling with the weight of heartbreak, as she delivered an emotional farewell to the devoted fans of the South Carolina Gamecocks.

In that fragile moment, time seemed to hold its breath — her sobs echoing like thunder in a storm of sorrow. With each word, she tore a piece of her soul away, offering it to the crowd that had once roared for her. Now, as she steps into the transfer portal, the world she once knew fades behind her — a chapter closed not with triumph, but with tears.

“I’m entering the transfer portal,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper — a whisper that roared like thunder across Gamecock Nation. “But South Carolina… will always have my love.”

Those words, so simple yet soaked in anguish, marked the end of an era — or perhaps the pause in a symphony that had only just begun to crescendo. For a player whose heart beat in rhythm with the cheers of the crowd, this goodbye was not a calculated decision, but a cry of heartbreak from someone caught between loyalty and the unknown.

As tears streamed down her face, it was clear this departure was not born of bitterness, but of necessity. The young star who once danced across the court under Dawn Staley’s watchful eye now steps into the shadows of uncertainty, leaving behind a legacy too brief, yet impossible to forget.

The announcement struck fans like a sudden winter wind — sharp, cold, and unexpected. Social media lit up with disbelief, pain, and unwavering support, as thousands reached out to remind Milaysia of the love she would always have in Columbia.

There are farewells, and then there are farewells that feel like the final note of a beautiful song being cut short. This was the latter. A heartbreaking departure, not of anger or betrayal, but of a young woman following a path that no one else can walk for her.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – After two seasons with South Carolina, talented guard MiLaysia Fulwiley will be entering the transfer portal, according to sources.

Fulwiley was the Gamecocks’ second-leading scorer with 11.7 points per game and was a key piece during South Carolina’s deep runs the past two seasons.

The transfer portal opened March 25 and will close on April 22. If the player doesn’t transfer, they can still withdraw and return to the team after the closing date.

The Columbia native will leave with several accolades. Fulwiley was SEC Sixth Player of the Year in 2025, SEC Tournament MVP, SEC All-Freshman Team, and a national championship winner in 2024.
