The captain of the Montreal Canadiens delivered an important statement.
Days after the trade accepted by Kent Hughes with the Vancouver Canucks, the captain of the Montreal Canadiens revealed everything
Brendan Gallagher taught him.
Suzuki is talking here about a mentor as much as a teammate, nothing less!
Suzuki didn’t hide his gratitude toward Gallagher, who “shaped” his vision of leadership in an NHL locker room.
After all, Suzuki was just a rookie when he met Gallagher for the very first time.
“There are plenty of things that he taught me. I learned a lot of different things about being a leader and what it means to play for this team. I think he’s taught a lot of us those messages.”
– Nick Suzuki, on Brendan Gallagher
Suzuki truly believes Gallagher left a lasting mark on the entire group.
Nick Suzuki had plenty to say about Brendan Gallagher’s character
That’s what Brendan Gallagher was to the Montreal Canadiens. A leader who taught by example, day after day.
Suzuki becomes the fifth player to speak publicly about Gallagher.
But hearing it from the captain is something special.
Suzuki now embodies that leadership with the Montreal Canadiens, and it will be up to him to pass those lessons on to the leaders of tomorrow.
The captain is coming off an outstanding 101-point season with a +37 rating, and we’re truly excited to see what next season has in store for him.
As for Gallagher, he continues his journey in Vancouver. He arrives there after a 23-point season in 77 games at the age of 34.
We wish him a great 2026-27 season with the Canucks!
