Caitlin Clark receives glowing review from new coach as progress away from WNBA continues
Caitlin Clark has taken a break from basketball to focus on one of her other passions, with the WNBA star set to play in an LPGA pro-am event next month.
Caitlin Clark has been praised by her new golf coach following a lesson aimed at honing her skills on the green.
The Indiana Fever star, who previously showcased her golfing chops at the John Deere Classic pro-am, is enjoying her break from the court to pursue her golfing interests.
While many of her peers have joined the Unrivaled League during the off-season to supplement their income and keep their game sharp, Clark is focusing on her love for golf as she gears up to participate in the pro-am at The Annika, a prestigious event just before the LPGA Tour finale. She’s set to join forces with golf legends Annika Sorenstam and Nelly Korda next month at Florida’s Pelican Golf Club.
In preparation for the tournament, Clark polished her swing under the guidance of Martha Foyer-Faulconer, a former LPGA player from 1987 to 1995. Foyer-Faulconer was thoroughly impressed by Clark’s quick adaptability and found the training session delightful.
Speaking to Golfweek, Foyer-Faulconer remarked, “Within the time we were working, we saw some drastic changes,” and added, “It’s also part of her DNA because she’s going to do things well. She wants to be as good as she can in everything she touches. She’s very driven and passionate. It’s fun to work with her.”
Foyer-Faulconer tweaked Clark’s stance, positioning her slightly further from the ball and advising her to loosen up her shoulders. They began with wedge shots to perfect the technique before progressing to drivers, sending balls soaring down the fairway.

Caitlin Clark very much enjoys her golf. The ex-LPGA star was impressed by Clark’s innate golfing ability, remarking: “Some of this stuff you can’t teach people. They just either have it or they don’t.”
Before heading back to train with the Indiana Fever in April, Clark is set to spend ample time on the greens. She has previously shared her passion for golf with Golf Digest, noting how the sport provides a mental respite from the WNBA’s pressures.
Clark expressed last year: “You can clear your mind, do something you really love and have the peace and quiet of just your friends around or even just yourself. I love being able to escape reality for a little bit.”
