Caleb Williams has fans all around the college sports landscape and UConn Huskies basketball star Paige Bueckers is one of them. The 22-year-old guard hyped up Bears’ rookie quarterback, Caleb Williams, after his selection as the No. 1 overall pick by the Chicago Bears in the 2024 NFL draft.
Bueckers took to Instagram to celebrate Williams’ achievement, captioning her post:
“Number one HIM! 🐏”
Williams, the former USC Trojans quarterback and 2022 Heisman Trophy winner, has set high expectations for himself and the Bears as he prepares to start his NFL journey in Chicago.
Eager to dive into the playbook and make an immediate impact, Williams is gearing up for rookie minicamp on May 10 and 11, ready to back up the hype created around his name and lead the Bears to success.
With the weight of franchise expectations on his shoulders, Williams’ main aim will be to operate the offense seamlessly, demonstrating his playmaker abilities.

The newly drafted Chicago Bears quarterback revealed the reason behind his painted nails, refusing to back down from his unique sense of style as he enters the NFL arena.
The quarterback from Washington, D.C., turned heads on draft day with his unconventional ensemble, featuring a double-breasted blazer alongside his distinctively painted nails.
Addressing his choice during an interview, Williams unapologetically backed his style sense.
“I paint my nails, I wear unique things,” Caleb said during the interview, via People. “It’s me. You call it unique. I call it me.”
Williams is determined to continue using fashion as a form of self-expression, aiming to set a trend rather than conforming to norms.
“I’ve been doing it before college, but it took everybody by surprise, just because you don’t always see male athletes who play football paint their nails,” he added.
The former USC QB views his fashion choices as an extension of his individuality, unapologetically defying stereotypes within the football community.
