POST-GAME INTERVIEW: Stephanie White FURIOUS, Accuses WNBA Referees of RIGGING Aces’ Game 2 Playoff Win

In a fiery post-game interview, Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White didn’t hold back after her team’s controversial loss to the Las Vegas Aces in Game 2 of the WNBA Playoffs. White expressed outrage over what she described as “blatantly biased officiating” that she believes directly impacted the outcome of the game.

“This wasn’t just bad officiating — it felt intentional,” White said, visibly frustrated. “My players worked too hard for the refs to decide the game.”

The Aces secured a narrow win in Game 2, taking a 2–0 lead in the series. But controversy erupted in the fourth quarter, when a series of questionable calls — including a crucial offensive foul on Caitlin Clark and a no-call on a shooting foul against Angel Reese — shifted momentum in Las Vegas’s favor.

White pointed to several missed calls and inconsistencies in foul assignments as evidence that the game was “tilted from the start.” She even went so far as to suggest the league needs to “take a hard look” at how games are officiated during high-stakes playoff matchups.

Social media quickly lit up, with fans from both sides debating whether the officiating was fair. Hashtags like **#RiggedGame** and **#LetThemPlay** began trending on X (formerly Twitter), and several former players chimed in, defending White’s right to speak out.

While the WNBA has not released an official statement on the matter, league insiders suggest the referees’ performance will be reviewed — standard protocol after every playoff game, but now under a much brighter spotlight.

Despite the loss, White says her team remains focused.

“We’re not done. If anything, this just fuels us,” she said. “We’ll be ready for Game 3.”

Game 3 of the series is set to tip off this weekend, and all eyes will be on both the players — and the refs.

Indiana Fever Coach Stephanie White’s Blunt Response to Big WNBA Playoff Concern

The Indiana Fever are back in action on Friday for Game 3 of their first-round WNBA playoffs series against the Las Vegas Aces. This will be the Fever’s sixth game in the last 13 days as they look to take a 2-1 lead in the semifinals against four-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson and the Aces.

Fever head coach Stephanie White spoke to the media on Thursday as the team made its final preparations for Friday’s big game. One of the biggest concerns White addressed during the interview was about fatigue — an issue that the Fever have had to deal with amid the myriad of injuries they’ve suffered throughout the season.

After their Game 2 loss on Tuesday, White admitted that star player Kelsey Mitchell looked fatigued as the MVP finalist struggled with her shot against the Aces. White, however, had a defiant statement on Thursday.

“You ain’t got time to be tired at this point,” White responded when asked about her team’s fatigue level at this point in the postseason.

The veteran coach isn’t denying the fact that fatigue is, indeed, a significant concern for Indiana. However, White has made it abundantly clear that this is not something they can worry about at the moment.

While it’s true that her players have had to carry heavier workloads amid their injury-marred campaign, the fact of the matter is that every single team is dealing with fatigue at this point in the playoffs.

As White implied, now is not the time for the Fever to start feeling sorry for themselves or complain about being tired. Right now, they need to stay locked in to their goals, especially considering how they’re just six wins away from a WNBA championship.
