Rare Video Of 16-Year-Old Angel Reese Dominating & Humiliating Her Opponents In Youth League Is Going Viral

A video of a 16-year-old Angel Reese making easy work of the opponents in her youth league has gone viral on social media.

Long before she became a household name in college for the LSU Tigers, Angel Reese established herself as one of the top high school prospects in the country. She starred at St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland, leading the team to one IAAM A Conference championship.

While she was in high school, the 2020 McDonald’s All-American selection also played for Team Takeover, a youth team in the Amateur Athletic Union.

The Courtside Films X/Twitter account posted a video of a 16-year-old Angel Reese dominating for Team Takeover in an AAU game. And the future Chicago Sky star certainly made it look easy on the court:

Fast forward to 2025, and the 23-year-old Reese has established herself as one of the WNBA’s best and most popular players. Before suffering a season-ending wrist injury in her rookie 2024 season, Reese briefly set the WNBA single-season rebound record (446), though it was broken by Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson (451).

The 2023 NCAA national champion averaged 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game in her WNBA rookie season.

The Sky have the second-worst record in the WNBA at 5-11, but they’re only 2.5 games behind LAs Vegas for the final playoff spot.
