Sad news: It’s been five years since NHL player Colby Cave passed away. Now, his widow Emily is making shocking accusations about the Edmonton Oilers – and it’s making fans angry.
It’s been five years since Boston Bruins and Edmonton Oilers center Colby Cave passed away from a brain cyst at just 25 years old.
Now, Colby’s wife, Emily, is making some shocking statements about the charity work she has done in his memory.

Emily and Colby had been married for less than a year at the time of his passing.
Since then, Emily has worked with both the Bruins and Oilers organizations to create charities in Colby’s honor—aimed at supporting children and helping prevent other families from experiencing the same kind of loss.
But now, Emily is making claims that have fans deeply upset. She alleges that over one million dollars are missing from the memorial fund created in Colby’s name.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Emily writes that the charity work has not turned out the way she had hoped. Instead, the “politics and business side of Colby’s death” have made her want to stop her involvement altogether.
“This has nothing to do with me. I never wanted the attention. I didn’t even ask for the memorial fund. But when it was presented to me, I accepted it and did it for Colby’s legacy, trusting others to have the same intentions. Looking back, my biggest mistake and regret was that,” Emily writes on X.
“I have bitten my tongue for one reason only—the hundreds of kiddos who have been helped through the memorial fund.
Despite knowing that Colby would have told me to walk away and shut it down years ago, when the first red flag appeared. Now, there have been too many red flags swept under the rug to even count,” she adds.
