Shaquille O’Neal’s Son Shareef Leverages Angel Reese’s Stamp of Approval to Hype New Billion-Dollar Brand’s Design

After finishing his 2023 G League season, Shareef O’Neal was set to head to Australia, but his father, Shaquille O’Neal, had other plans. During a flight, Shaq turned to his son and said, “I really need your help.”

As Reebok’s new President of Basketball, he wanted Shareef to stay and work on redesigning shoes, updating apparel, and signing players. Given everything his family had done for him, Shareef didn’t hesitate to step up.

His efforts led to the creation of the Reebok “Engine A” sneaker, worn by WNBA star Angel Reese. She debuted them during her “Barbie Night” game, making a bold statement on the court. The success of the sneakers further cemented Shareef’s influence in Reebok’s comeback. He was helping shape the brand’s future.

Recently, Shareef showed up courtside for one of Reese’s games. He shared a clip of her in action on his Instagram story, writing, “Goood feet’s twin @angelreese5.” His courtside appearance wasn’t just about supporting Reese but a strategic nod to Reebok’s expanding footprint in the basketball world. It appears Shareef is trying to connect his work with Reebok to the athletes wearing its products. Previously, the company also sent a pair to Shareef’s former teammate, Eric Gaines.

Since stepping into this role, Shareef has played a key role in revitalizing Reebok’s image. He’s helped redesign sneakers, updated the apparel, and even played a role in signing athletes who fit the brand’s vision. But he’s not stopping there. He’s also using his own platform to spread the word, mixing marketing with personal branding. Whether it’s posting about the latest drops, showing up courtside, or rocking Reebok gear himself, he’s making sure people pay attention, making father Shaquille O’Neal proud.

Angel Reese’s dominance on the court continues

Angel Reese led the Rose Basketball Club into a highly anticipated Unrivaled matchup against the Laces Basketball Club on Monday. Reese, alongside Brittney Sykes and Chelsea Gray, took the floor as part of the starting lineup. However, fans missed out on a potential face-off between Reese and Kate Martin, who remained sidelined for the fifth consecutive game due to a left leg injury.

Reese was on fire once again, locking in her fifth double-double in six games. She dropped 14 points on 7-for-14 shooting and dominated the boards with 17 rebounds. On top of that, she added four assists, a steal, and a block—all in just 24 minutes.

Reese wasted no time making an impact, pulling down four quick rebounds right out of the gate. Her shot wasn’t falling at first—she missed her opening field goal and free throw—but she didn’t let that slow her down. By the end of the first quarter, she had already found her rhythm, putting up six points.

By halftime, she had stacked up 10 points, 10 rebounds, and a steal, showing just how much she could influence the game on both ends of the floor. She kept that same intensity in the second half, adding to her stats and coming up with a huge block on Alyssa Thomas in the final quarter. With Reese setting the tone, Rose BC battled their way to a 58-53 win, further proving that she’s one of the league’s brightest rising stars.

With Reese dominating on the court and Shareef making moves off it, their partnership is a glimpse into Reebok’s ambitious new era. As the brand continues its resurgence, expect to see more collaborations bridging athletes and culture.
