Fever coach reveals Caitlin Clark’s first response to Team USA snub

Indiana Fever coach Christie Sides was recently asked what she felt about Caitlin Clark’s omission from Team USA. She responded with what her star player told shortly after receiving the news of her omission from the squad. Sides said:

“We talked actually on the bus. She got the call on the bus. She texted me to let me know. I just tried to keep her spirits up. The thing she said was, ‘Hey, coach. They woke a monster,’ which I thought was awesome.”

The Fever need a motivated Clark soon as they seek to salvage their season after starting 3-9.

In her most recent game, Clark dropped 30 points on 8-of-15 shooting, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals to lead the Fever to a 85-83 win against the Washington Mystics.
