Remember this Chennedy Carter girl that shoulder checked Caitlin Clark to the moon because she is jealous of her? And then refused to talk about her in the post game press conference?
Well she’s back in the news again today and folks, I’m considering this one juicy. But listen, before I begin, I want to take a second and recognize that I get the WNBA is not for everyone. But my goodness what it lacks in quality play sometimes is more than made up for in the drama. It’s unequivocally the best reality show on television right now. Here’s how this one goes:
So the Sky traded their starting guard Marina Mabrey to the Sun right before the All-Star break, and then immediately after it got reported that Mabrey actually requested the trade because she didn’t like playing for the Chicago Sky. Didn’t fit in with the likes of Chennedy Carter and Angel Reese. Wonder why? Anyways, people said circle August 23rd on your calendars because that’s when Chennedy Carter, who is known for having a very bad attitude and throwing temper tantrums / cheap shots, gets to play against Marina for the first time.
Fast forward to August 23rd and here’s how the Sky entered the arena with Marina right there:
The internet thought it was a big thing but on a scale of A to F I’m giving that somewhere around a D- on the beef scale. Sure they were teammates and sure everyone else is saying what’s up, but if they don’t like each other then they don’t talk to each other. Who cares?
But fast forward to literally the first quarter in the game and Chennedy Carter got to do what she really wanted to do when she passed Marina the first time:
And you can cash your tickets for Chennedy Carter to flagrantly foul Marina Mabrey. They were paying -450! Angel Reese to be the first to high five her afterwards was at -700…
But in all honesty, that’s a fucking bullshit cheap shot that she tried to hide within the confines of the game. There’s no other take you can have. On a given night, if that happens, do I care enough to blog it? No, obviously not. But Chennedy Carter has a history of this stuff, waited until Marina gave her a chance (and she did with the pump fake the Chennedy bit on), and then swiped down so hard without any intention of touching the ball that it damn near took her arm and face off at the same time. THIS LEAGUE!!!

Chennedy may have gotten to smack her in the face for the price of a Flagrant 1, but it’s Marina Mabrey who won the war by not only going off for 24 points in 24 minutes, but her team also won.
And then after the game she said she’s “not gonna fight with that”.
Listen I don’t care what you say. Watch every game or watch zero games, doesn’t matter to me. This shit is hilarious and Chennedy Carter is a Grade A Villain and a bad person and I think it’s interesting. And the Sky have this personality about them that makes them so damn unlikeable that I can’t stop following the drama. I can’t wait until the next time this Sky team plays Caitlin Clark. Must see television every single time.
