Caitlin Clark puts an end to the Angel Reese debate: That’s a selfish thing to just care about an individual award
The pair faced off on Friday night
Reese and ClarkLAPRESSE
The WNBA put on a show on Friday night and fans were most intrigued to see Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark up against one another as the Chicago Sky hosted the Indiana Fever.
It was Clark and the Fever that comfortably came out on top with a 100-81 win over the Sky, and many fans think that Clark has now stormed away in the rivalry between her and Reese.
Despite what fans may think and the constant suggestion that the two players actively want to get the best of one another, Clark thinks that individual awards are irrelevant in the grand scheme of trying to succeed in the WNBA.
Clark not interested in ROY
The Rookie of the Year award is what has intensified this latest phase of the rivalry and a lot of people think Caitlin Clark is going to get it, but she is not interested in that right now.
“Me and Angel would both give you the same answer. You don’t wake up and think about individual awards. I know that’s what all of you think we do. I know we don’t. I know that’s what everybody wants to make this about,” she said after the game.

“Both of our teams are competing for playoff spots. That’s our main focus. That’s a selfish thing to just care about an individual award. If she wouldn’t give you the exact same answer, I’m sure she has been giving you the exact same answer. Everybody can write that, but our focus is on winning basketball games. As simple as that,” Clark added.
Clark has been in storming form with the Fever since the league resumed, whilst the Sky have been struggling more than usual.
