Angel Reese allegedly involved in a fight during her time at LSU: Report

Chicago Sky power forward Angel Reese was allegedly involved in a fight with a teammate during her college basketball playing days at LSU. This information emerged in USA Today’s investigation of the Washington Post’s profile on LSU coach Kim Mulkey.

Per USA Today, in an email dated March 19 from Washington Post reporter Kent Babb to LSU Sports Information Director Grant Kauvar, Babb gave a list of things that “warranted a heads up.”

This included information Babb had gotten from multiple sources about a 2022 LSU meeting where players had to turn off their phones and leave them in a different room while Mulkey spoke to the team. This meeting allegedly preceded an incident involving Reese.

“This was after a fight involving Angel Reese, witnessed by one of my sources, that occurred in front of visiting recruits,” Babb wrote. “One of these individuals present in the team meeting shared that Mulkey said: ‘This entire locker room is trash.'”

The alleged Reese incident did not appear in the Washington Post’s piece on Mulkey.

In February, Babb tried to conduct an interview with Mulkey but was unsuccessful. Despite investing two years of work, including multiple requests and efforts to pitch a positive profile, LSU declined, citing a previous negative experience with the reporter and a focus on her team’s season.

Reese spent two seasons playing for the Tigers under coach Kim Mulkey, securing a national championship in 2023.

Kim Mulkey reunites with Angel Reese in a WNBA game

LSU Tigers head coach Kim Mulkey was in the house to show her support to former LSU star Angel Reese during a WNBA game between Chicago Sky and Washington Mystics on June 6.

Mulkey reunited with Reese and former Baylor player DiDi Richards. She shared a picture of the three on her Instagram account.

“First night in D.C. did not disappoint! There’s nothing better than watching people you care about live out their dreams. Proud Coach!”

Chicago won the game 79-71 as Reese contributed 16 points, 11 rebounds and five steals.

WNBA also posted a clip from the game where Angel Reese and Mulkey embraced in a hug on Instagram.

Mulkey, who joined the Tigers in 2021 following a twenty-year stint at Baylor, has clinched four NCAA championship titles. She won her first national championship as a head coach in 2005 and the second in 2012. She then shared her third NCAA glory with DiDi Richards and secured her fourth alongside Reese.
