Chicago Sky star Angel Reese surely wishes she could have a do-over on her no-look pass attempt during Tuesday night’s game against the Minnesota Lynx.
After helping Team Collier to a WNBA All-Star Game victory over Team Clark, Angel Reese and her Chicago teammates returned to the court to take on the league-best Lynx, who entered the game with a perfect 12-0 home record.
Late in the first quarter, Reese made the mistake of trying to get too fancy with a no-look pass after receiving the ball from her teammate. Maria Kliundikova grabbed the loose ball, and teammate Natisha Hiedeman scored another basket at the other end.
That’s the risk of trying a crafty play in professional sports. It looks genius if it works, but terrible if it fails. Reese took her chance here, but it unfortunately cost her team two points.
At the All-Star Game, Reese tallied six points, nine rebounds and two assists.
Chicago came into tonight’s game with a 7-15 record, four games behind the Washington Mystics and Las Vegas Aces for the final playoff spot. The Sky are running out of time to gain some ground in the postseason race, and it starts with improving the woeful 3-9 record on the road.

Entering tonight’s game in Minnesota, the 23-year-old was averaging 14.0 points, 12.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.
Reese is Chicago’s leading scorer and rebounder, and only Courtney Vandersloot is averaging more assists per contest than the LSU product. Reese has done her part to keep the Sky in the playoff race, but it’s going to take more from her teammates if Chicago is to make a late-season push.
