The Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions had a back-and-forth battle that would not be decided until the final seconds.
Leading up to those last seconds were fans being upset over calls on both calls.
The Packers seemed to have more to gripe about with the number of calls that did not go in their favor despite the evidence being shown.
With the Lions trailing 28-24 in the fourth quarter, Jared Goff found Tim Patrick in the end zone on third and goal for the go-ahead touchdown.
The replay of that moment showed that the refs missed a clear and obvious hold on the Lions.
The NFL’s X account posted the touchdown but cut out the part that showed the missed call.
Fans made sure to call them out:
“Tried to edit out the hold, pathetic.” one disgusted fan said.
“Nice cutting out the hold!,” another fan said.
One fan posted the moment the Lins player was held.
“why’d you’d cut this out NFL?,” one fan asked while providing a screenshot.
“Just ignore the Packers defender getting pulled out of his uniform. Or the illegal hands to the face a play earlier,” another X user added.
One final fan said, “You guys did a good job cutting out the blatant hold up the middle.”
The Packers lost 34-31 on Lions kicker Jake Bates’ 35-yard field goal as the clock expired at Ford Field.
Jordan Love completed 12 of his 20 passes for 206 yards and one touchdown.
Goff completed 32 of 41 passes for 283 yards and three touchdowns.
The Packers Lost Out On Prime Opportunity To Make Ground In The NFC North
Green Bay knew what they had to do, but they still came up short.
The Packers’ loss to the Lions dropped them to 9-4, essentially ending their hopes of competing for a division title down the stretch.
While the playoffs still appear to be inevitable, the team cannot win the division and have a home game.
The Lions, on the other hand, continue to roll. They have won 11 games in a row and are currently 12-1.
