WNBA Star Angel Reese Shockingly Announces She’s Out For Remainder of Season
WNBA star rookie Angel Reese will miss the remainder of the season after suffering an injury to her wrist. She suffered the injury on Friday night during a game against the Los Angeles Sparks.
Reese announced the news on social media of having to bill the last part of the year.
“What a year. I never would have imagined the last bucket of my rookie season would be a 3 but maybe that was God saying give them a taste of what they will be seeing more of in Year 2 lol🥲Through it all, I have showed that I belong in this league even when no one else believed. All I have ever wanted was to come into the W and make an impact. I can confidently say I have done that and will strive to keep doing so. I’m filled with emotions right now that I have a season ending injury, but also filled with so much gratitude for what is next. Although this is God’s timing and not mine, I am finally able to give myself a physical and mental break. “God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers.” You’ll still see me being the biggest cheerleader on the sideline! And Unrivaled league, see you soon! 💞😇
This is certainly a massive blow to the Chicago Sky and WNBA as a whole. Reese had emerged as one of the better players in the league and already set some records in his first season in the WNBA.

Chicago is barely holding onto the final spot in the playoffs so losing Reese will likely hurt their chances to make it. The former LSU product finishes her impressive rookie season averaging 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.

Reese made history by making the All-Star game in her rookie season and she has helped bring more viewership to the league. Alongside fellow rookie guard Caitlin Clark, Reese helped usher in one of the more popular rookie draft classes in recent memory.
While this injury is a bummer and her presence on the court will be missed, the anticipation for her return will be stronger than ever. Reese has established that her game can translate to the WNBA level, something many believed it wouldn’t do before entering the league.
