Brad Marchand is settling into life as a Florida Panther since returning to play for injury.
In doing so, he’s crossed paths with some former teammates from his 16-year career as a Boston Bruin.

Last week, he paid greetings to Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Brandon Carlo, who was also traded off the Bruins at the deadline. Marchand and Carlo spent nine seasons together on the Bruins.
Carlo, who is known as a mild-mannered player throughout the league, did not know what to expect from Marchand, who is renowned as one of the game’s loudest trash talkers.
“It’ll be interesting to see what kind of dirt he has on me,” Carlo said before Toronto defeated the Panthers 3-2 last week. “Maybe he’ll leave it off to the wayside, but I’m sure I’ll hear something. I’m not sure what it’ll be, but there will definitely be something.”
Though things unfolded quite the opposite.
According to Sportsnet’s Luke Fox, Marchand did in fact leave things by the wayside toward Carlo, but Carlo fired chirps at Marchand.
“It cut deep,” Marchand said ahead of Tuesday’s rematch.
Ahead of Tuesday’s rematch, Marchand took friendly shots back at Carlo when asked what the Maple Leafs got in him.
“You got a scumbag,” Marchand said with a smirk to MassLive.com. “No, I love Brando. He’s one of my best buddies on the team there. They got an incredible teammate in the room. Great locker room guy. Great competitor. He’s one of the best defenseman at killing plays, one of the best sticks in the league. Just a steady guy that can log a ton of minutes. He wants to win. He competes at a very high level. So they got an incredible player back there and they got him on term too, so a huge pickup for that team.”
