Caitlin Clark Makes WNBA History Against Minnesota Lynx
On Saturday night, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever traveled west to face Napheesa Collier and the Minnesota Lynx. The Fever stole the first game of the season series back in July, but the absence of Collier played a big part.
During the second matchup, Clark, once again, made WNBA history. She did this in front of her favorite player, Maya Moore, who had her Lynx jersey retired during the game.
With 1:33 left in the first quarter, the former Iowa Hawkeyes star scored her fourth point of the game on a mid-range jumper. In doing so, she reached 500 points on the season and became the fastest player in WNBA history to achieve 500 or more points and 200 or more assists, according to StatMamba.
Clark is also the first rookie in league history to reach these numbers.
Clark has broken many records throughout her rookie year. In early July, against the New York Liberty, she became the first rookie ever to record a triple-double. Clark also dished out 19 assists, the most ever in a single game, in the Fever’s final contest before the Olympic break against the Dallas Wings.
