NBA Star Tyrese Haliburton Sends Message To Caitlin Clark After Big Game

The city of Indianapolis has a couple of special guards in Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton and Indiana Fever rookie sensation Caitlin Clark.

On Saturday, Clark made WNBA history, becoming the first rookie to post a triple-double. She scored 19 points, handed out 13 assists and grabbed 12 rebounds in the Fever’s 83-78 win over the New York Liberty.

After the game, Clark posted a series of photos from the action on Instagram, along with the caption “Fun was had with the girls❤️‍🔥.”

Clark’s comment section has blown up, with Haliburton being one of the people to contribute a message.

“22 you special!!” the two-time All-Star wrote.

Clark certainly is special, and through 22 games has stated a strong case to be named Rookie of the Year. The award will likely come down to her and Angel Reese.

Haliburton previously supported Clark in person, attending the Fever’s game against Reese and the Chicago Sky last month. Indiana Pacers legend Reggie Miller compared the two as shooters back in early May.

“Wow. I mean, Caitlin can lace it. Caitlin can lace it. And so can Tyrese. I will say this, Tyrese has been struggling with his three-point shot since the All-Star break, so I might go with Caitlin,” Miller said.

To be fair to Haliburton, he made 37-of-86 three-point attempts in nine playoff games following Miller’s remarks, a 43% clip.

He’s also a career 39.3% regular season three-point shooter, which is considerably better than Clark’s 33.1% mark right now.

However, there’s no sense in becoming too buried in the comparison. Basketball fans in Indiana should just enjoy having both of them in the same city for years to come.
