However, according to a Bills legend, this is the year the Chiefs face a reversal at the hands of the Bills.

Buffalo Bills’ legendary linebacker London Fletcher appearing on The Jim Rome Show gave a bold prediction on the Bills vs Chiefs outcome. When asked if this is the Bills’ year to beat the Chiefs and stop the 3-peat, Fletcher said, “They’re (Bills) built tough to go to Kansas City and upset the Chiefs.” Hmmm, bold indeed. Fletcher delved deep into the Chiefs’ performance and how the Chiefs haven’t looked unbeatable: “They just don’t look like the same team we have grown accustomed to them being in the past.” Fletcher thinks the Bills QB can spearhead a historic win over the Chiefs this time: “The way Josh Allen is playing, whether it’s making throws or using his legs…”

Allen has been in an inspired form in the 2024-25 season, even leading the Bills to a 30-21 win over the Chiefs during the regular season. But for Fletcher, the biggest attribute that will help the Bills overcome the Chiefs challenge is their toughness, which they showed against the Baltimore Ravens. “That game against Baltimore where they showed a toughness that the Buffalo Bills haven’t shown in the past, for them to be able to run the ball in the manner they ran the ball against Baltimore, that right there was a telling sign.”

So, the verdict from London Fletcher? A Bills win. But only if it were that simple. Patrick Mahomes has made his name showing up for the biggest occasions, and it doesn’t matter to him at all if Josh Allen is playing like the best football player in the NFL right now.

When it comes to rushing yards, Allen has a decent lead over Mahomes (531-307), although Patrick Mahomes has a 67.5% completion rate against Allen’s 63.6%. One stat that’s glaringly against Mahomes is the number of sacks. The Chiefs King has been sacked 39 times while Allen has only 16 to his name, and that too despite facing more pressure. Allen is also one of the best right now when it comes to adjusted net yards per attempt.

But what makes Mahomes a living legend is his timing. Mahomes’ best plays are when the Chiefs are trailing or tied. Talk about being The Man. He has five 4th-quarter comebacks along with 7 game-winning drives in the 2024-25 NFL season, the highest. He is a 1-man fail-safe Chiefs warrior. Also, the 3-time Super Bowl Champion’s numbers take a drastic uplift when transitioning from regular season to post-season. For example, Allen is 4-1 up against Mahomes in the regular season so far but Mahomes is 3-0 when it comes to the post-season.
