Los Angeles Sparks star Cameron Brink signed with Unrivaled and will debut in the league in 2026.
Brink will slot into the wild-card spot the Lunar Owls had on their six-player squad. Her arrival will have to wait, however, as she continues her recovery from a torn ACL.
Brink was on her way to having a strong rookie campaign before the knee injury.
She struggled a bit offensively, averaging 7.5 points on 39.8 percent shooting. Her penchant for foul trouble in college carried over to the pros, too, as she averaged 4.0 fouls over 21.9 minutes per contest.
The 6’4″ forward was well ahead of the curve as a defender, though. Her 2.3 blocks per contest were the second-highest in the WNBA behind the Las Vegas Aces’ A’ja Wilson. Twice she swatted away five shots in a game, both of which came against Wilson and Las Vegas.
Heading into the 2024 WNBA draft, so much attention was paid to Caitlin Clark after her legendary career at Iowa. That meant Brink flew under the radar a bit despite being a big name with lofty expectations herself.
Especially after what she did through her first 15 games, the 22-year-old is clearly a franchise cornerstone for Los Angeles moving forward.
With her newest endeavor, Brink figures to be a key part of Unrivaled’s long-term plans as well. She’s the second notable star to sign with an eye toward 2026 after UConn’s Paige Bueckers penned an NIL deal and received an equity stake in the league.
As a member of Lunar Owls, Brink will line up alongside Napheesa Collier, Skylar Diggins-Smith, Natasha Cloud, Allisha Gray and Shakira Austin.
