More than 25 years after Titanic became a global phenomenon, Leonardo DiCaprio is admitting something that may surprise fans: he’s never actually rewatched the iconic film.

The revelation came during the latest installment of Actors on Actors, presented by Variety and CNN and published on December 17, when DiCaprio sat down for a candid conversation with Jennifer Lawrence. The two Oscar winners discussed career-defining roles, missed opportunities, and the strange experience of watching themselves on screen.

The moment arose while Lawrence asked DiCaprio about famously passing on the lead role in Boogie Nights, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. DiCaprio explained that the timing was complicated, as Titanic and Boogie Nights overlapped during a pivotal moment early in his career. As the conversation unfolded, Lawrence casually asked a question fans have wondered about for decades: had he ever rewatched Titanic?

DiCaprio’s answer was simple and definitive—no.
