Patrick Mahomes sets all-time franchise passing record, Chiefs lead 13-7

The Chiefs have extended their lead and quarterback Patrick Mahomes holds a franchise record.

On Kansas City’s final offense, Mahomes passed Hall of Famer Len Dawson for most passing yards in franchise history.

Dawson’s previous score was 28.507.

So far on Thursday, Mahomes has thrown 9 of 13 for 117 yards, giving him 28,541 and counting.

Mahomes is the only active quarterback with the best passing record on his current team.

The Chiefs hold a 13-7 lead over the Ravens with 5:44 left in the second quarter, but they could have an even bigger lead.

Baltimore has spent its last two Kansas City possessions in the red zone. After Chris Jones forced a strip sack that the Chiefs recovered, a pass from JuJu Smith-Schuster was broken up, forcing the team to settle for a 32-yard field goal.

Kansas City had to settle for a 31-yard field goal when Mahomes couldn’t get the ball to rookie Xavier Worthy in the end zone.
