Panini sells out Caitlin Clark autographed memorabilia release in minutes

Panini’s latest release of Caitlin Clark autographed items ranging in price from $450 to $1,000 each sold out in a matter of minutes on Thursday. A total of 19 different autographed items, including photos, basketballs and jerseys, were in the release.

Five different autographed photos, limited to 122 of each, four different autographed Iowa Hawkeyes jerseys, each also limited to 122 (and bearing a “3,951 PTS” inscription — her NCAA scoring record), two different autographed 2024 WNBA All-Star Game jerseys, limited to 50 each, all showed as being sold out within five minutes of release. The total combined price of those items was nearly $900,000.

Along with the limited editions, there were eight different open edition items, meaning those will eventually be restocked, though Panini doesn’t yet have a timetable for when that will be. Those items showed as being sold out within 10 minutes of release. Some items appeared to be back in stock shortly after, but again showed as being sold out within the hour. There was a limit of five per transaction on each item.

Clark autographed jerseys routinely sell for more than $1,000 on eBay, so the price points on Panini’s release were likely attractive to collectors.

Even a month after she played her final game of the 2024 WNBA season with the Indiana Fever, Clark remains a focus for collectors.

Earlier this month, Panini sold a 1/1 Caitlin Clark Rookie of the Year Blue Viper autographed card for $97,000 — a record for a Clark or WNBA card. In September, Wilson quickly sold out of Clark’s signature basketball collection.

Clark signed an exclusive multi-year partnership with Panini for trading cards and autographed memorabilia in March. It marked the first time Panini had made such a deal with a female athlete. According to Sportico, she is being paid more than $1 million in the first year of the agreement.
