Angel Reese Got Into It With A Fan On Tuesday Night
Chicago Sky star Angel Reese didn’t hold back in her response to a social media troll who criticized her offensive shortcomings.
On Tuesday, Reese shared a post from December 2023 by a women’s basketball account asking fans if she was a first-round pick. The majority of the voters answered “No.”
The Sky star clearly kept receipts, as she responded to the doubters and captioned her post, “appreciate you bookiesss.” As fans would know, Chicago took the former LSU star with the seventh overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Reese then proceeded to prove doubters wrong, as she set records in her rookie season and became an All-Star.
Despite what she has achieved, however, some people still look for ways to hate on her. That’s why when a commenter criticized her offensive struggles in her first year, she made sure to clap back.
“U realize u can’t make a lay up on the first try most times, right,” a critic wrote in response to her latest post, prompting Reese to remind the hater of what she has done in her rookie season.
“Do you realize I got drafted 7th in my class while ‘missing layups’ as a ROOKIE shooting 39% on the year & was STILL a all star and that was the worst you’ll ever see me???” Reese wrote. “Or you just laid up with your dog at home hating Adam??”
Angel Reese’s offense in her rookie year certainly left much to be desired. She shot 39.1 percent from the field and didn’t take a lot of triples (she went 3-of-16 from deep in the season), further highlighting her offensive limitations.
However, it should be remembered that Reese was a rookie. Not to mention that she still averaged 13.6 points along with a league-best 13.1 rebounds per game, showing that she can impact the game beyond scoring.

Of course, the challenge is on Reese to prove that she can take her offensive game to the next level. That being said, there’s no denying that she exceeded expectations in relation to her draft position in her first year in the WNBA.
