Two-Time WNBA Champion Joins Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever For 2025 Season

Indiana Fever Finally Signs WNBA Champion Sydney Colson To Boost Caitlin Clark's 2025 Title Run!

The Indiana Fever are loading up on talent for Year 2 of the Caitlin Clark era, that’s for sure.

Over the weekend, Indiana signed six-time All-Star forward DeWanna Bonner. She’s coming off a season with the Connecticut Sun where she averaged 15.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. Before taking her talents to Connecticut, she won two championships with the Phoenix Mercury. Maybe she’ll bring a title to Indiana.

Prior to acquiring Bonner, the Fever signed veteran forward Natasha Howard. Despite being in the WNBA for a decade, she remains a dominant force. She averaged 17.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game for the Dallas Wings last season.

On Tuesday night, the Fever bolstered their roster yet again by signing Sydney Colson to a one-year deal. ESPN’s Alexa Philippou was first to report this news.

Colson, a two-time WNBA champion spent the past three seasons with the Las Vegas Aces. Last year, she averaged 2.5 points per game in a limited role.

“Breaking: 2x-time WNBA champion Sydney Colson is signing a one-year deal with the Indiana Fever, her agent, LIFT Sports’ Gina Paradiso, told ESPN,” Philippou wrote. “Colson, who spent the last 3 seasons in Las Vegas, brings veteran pedigree and experience in the backcourt to a surging Fever squad.”

The Fever have added a ton of experience to their roster this offseason with Bonner, Colson and Howard. Additionally, they bolstered their shooting by landing former Mercury guard Sophie Cunningham in a four-team trade.

Clearly, the Fever want to make sure their young talent is surrounded by reliable veterans.

Time will tell if the Fever have enough firepower to win a title. On paper, they have definitely improved their roster.
