Brittany Mahomes had a reunion with an eagle, though fortunately for Patrick Mahomes, this time a Super Bowl wasn’t on the line. The last time the couple faced an eagle, it didn’t end well, with a crushing 40-22 defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

But now, the circumstances are different, and Brittany took it with a lot of humor.

The wife of the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback shared a photo on her Instagram Stories of a real bald eagle perched at the entrance of their home, accompanied by the caption, “Have you ever had a bald eagle on your porch?”

“Hey dude,” Brittany said in her next post. “What’s up? He has made himself right at home.”

This moment feels strikingly symbolic given the Chiefs’ loss to the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. What are the odds that a literal eagle would show up at Patrick Mahomes’ house? It seems almost impossible…

In that game, the three-time Super Bowl champion and two-time MVP was overwhelmed by the Philadelphia Eagles’ defense, which included an interception returned for a touchdown by rookie Cooper DeJean.

“Think I could teach it how to attack on command?” Brittany jokingly added in her stories.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are heading into a season aiming to move past that painful experience against the Eagles. The good news is they’re regaining several offensive weapons; the bad news is that the entire NFL has bolstered their rosters through various means to try to stop them.

Whether they succeed or not, Brittany Mahomes will be by Patrick’s side, supporting him every step of the way.
