A Caitlin Clark superfan couldn’t contain her joy when her family surprised her with tickets to see the Indiana Fever star.

Taylor Massey, a 30-year-old Indianapolis native, posted a video on Instagram on Wednesday of her granny getting a white box containing Clark’s Fever jersey as a gift.

Overwhelmed with emotion, she screamed “Caitlin Clark!” and the top of the wrapped box fell to the ground.

But the joy on the grandma’s face paled in comparison to her reaction to the second big surprise she received. One of the family members asked her to check if something else was in the box.

“I’m going to the game… I’m shaking,” she exclaimed.

The woman was overwhelmed at receiving tickets to one of the Fever’s preseason games.

The video, shared by Overtime’s Instagram account, caught the attention of Clark, who responded with three words:

“Let’s go grams!”

Since being posted a few hours ago, the video has more than 40,000 likes.

The official Fever Instagram account also shared the news on its IG story.

Caitlin Clark scoops prestigious AP Female Athlete of the Year award

Caitlin Clark has been crowned the AP Female Athlete of the Year following a stellar 2024 year that saw her raise the profile of women’s basketball to unprecedented levels in both the college ranks and the WNBA.

A panel of 74 sports journalists, including members of The Associated Press, voted for the award. Caitlin Clark received 35 votes, while Olympic gymnast Simone Biles came in second with 25 votes. Boxer Imane Khelif secured the third position with four votes.

Clark is the fourth women’s basketball player to win Female Athlete of the Year since 1931, joining Sheryl Swoopes (1993), Rebecca Lobo (1995), and Candace Parker (2008, 2021).

Clark made more than enough of an impression to become the latest recipient of AP’s prestigious individual accolade.

After a slow start to her WNBA career, Clark found her rhythm, setting a single-game assist record with 19 and finishing the season with 337 assists. Known for her logo 3-pointers, she became the fastest player to reach 100 3s, doing so in just 34 games, leading Indiana to the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
