Caitlin Clark left speechless after bizarre Angel Reese-themed question
A reporter’s question left Caitlin Clark speechless and it was quickly dismissed following the Indiana Fever’s fourth consecutive WNBA win against the Dallas Wings
Caitlin Clark was left speechless by a bizarre Angel Reese-themed question following the win over the Dallas Wings on Sunday night.
The Fever’s charge toward the WNBA playoffs continued as they defeated Dallas by seven points, 93-100, inside the College Park Center. Clark put together another barnstorming performance, recording 28 points, 12 assists and four rebounds.
The result followed a huge 81-100 win over Reese and the Chicago Sky, where Clark scored 31 points and provided 12 assists, with the Fever now on a four-game win streak. “After giving the Razzmatazz to those Windy City skyscrapers Friday night, what was the biggest wingding game you expected to find today in the shindig against these dynamos from Big D?” a reporter asked Clark.
However, Clark was left speechless, and the next question was promptly called. What the reporter was seemingly trying to ask, albeit in a bizarre and strange manner, was what Clark’s expectations were heading into the game following the win over the Sky after referencing The Windy City.
It also appeared that the reporter that asked Clark a question, got jazzy while speaking to LeBron James. Instead of ignoring the question, James attempted to answer it, while also using some of the reporter’s terminology.
“How do you and your hard-boiled cagers from Lakerland plan to put the lid on Luka Doncic and his razzmatazz, hop skiddily-doo?” the reporter asked James. “I don’t know if we can stop the razzskazz- skiddily-doo but we can make it tough on both of them,” James responded. “Two great talents, and hopefully we come through with a victory.”
On the night, Clark toppled an Indiana Fever franchise record. She scored the 595th point of her career, surpassing WNBA legend Tamika Catchings for the most in a single season by a rookie in Fever history, before finishing the night on 617.
“It’s obviously cool. But we play basketball the right way. It’s fun. We’ve been winning,” Clark said following the win. “That’s what makes this better.
“We’re playing so much better basketball than even a month ago, before the break. It feels like our chemistry is better. Everything flows better. It feels better. It’s cool (to set the record). There’s been a lot of really good players to put on this jersey and to be mentioned with some of them is special.”
The Fever are 6-1 since the WNBA returned from the Olympic break. “We still have a lot of challenges left. We’re fighting to get into the playoffs, our goal since Day 1. Every single one matters for (playoff) positioning. These opportunities end very fast. Not taking it for granted,” she added.
