Caitlin Clark is going pro… in golf!? She is making her debut in a pro-am event ahead of this week’s LPGA Tour event at Pelican Golf club outside of Tampa. Her driving range session will be livestreamed on social media and she’ll play her 18 hole round with world number 1 Nelly Korda!
Sabrina Ionescu was asked on on the BIG 10 Network about her 3-point contest with Steph Curry, one of the best events of this year’s dull NBA All-Star Weekend. Could we see her and Caitlin Clark team up for a 2v2 vs Steph & Klay!?
Caitlin Clark’s offseason goal? To become a professional golfer
Caitlin Clark just finished one of the best rookie seasons in WNBA history.
The first overall pick from Iowa helped lead the Indiana Fever into the WNBA playoffs following a regular season where she was named WNBA Rookie of the Year and finished fourth in MVP voting.
Her season came to an end Wednesday night. In the postgame press conference, Clark was asked about what her offseason plans entailed, and she had a quick answer.
“I don’t know what I’m going to do tomorrow. I don’t know what I’m going to do the next day. Maybe play some golf,” Clark said. “That’s what I’m gonna do until it gets too cold in Indiana. I’ll become a professional golfer.”
Clark has been a regular guest at pro-ams in the past, so expect her to make more appearances before her second season with the Fever picks up in the spring.
But until then, it’s time to pick up the sticks.
“Not too much, babe,” teammate Aliyah Boston joked. “Keep it to basketball.”
Caitlin Clark receives new job offer in different sport after incredible outing
Caitlin Clark has been a revelation in the WNBA with the Indiana Fever, but has also been offered a job in another sport
Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever’s star player, has been invited to leave the WNBA and become a full-time player on the LPGA Tour following her impressive performances on the golf course. Despite leading the Fever to an incredible post-Olympics form and a play-off berth, Clark – who has a very impressive net worth – is considering taking her talents elsewhere.
During an off-season break, while many of her rivals are competing overseas or at the 3v3 Unrivalled League founded by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, Clark has other plans. She’s swapping basketball for golf this winter and will be competing at the penultimate LPGA Tour event of the season next month, hosted by Annika Sorenstam in Florida.
After the Fever were knocked out of the WNBA play-offs by the Connecticut Sun, Clark joked about her plans to “become a professional golfer” and take a break from non-stop basketball to relax and hit the links. While practising for the upcoming event with Fever team-mate Lexie Hull, Clark filmed a TikTok video of the pair playing a par three hole.
Clark came just inches away from making an incredible hole-in-one, spinning in a circle and falling to the floor when she realised how close she was to an ace, before putting for birdie.

The LPGA’s official account cheekily asked Caitlin Clark if she was considering a league change by commenting on the Overtime WBB Instagram page, “You trying to join another league???” complete with an eyes emoji. They then shared the video on their X (formerly known as Twitter) page with the caption: “File this under things we love to see. Game knows game.
Although Clark hasn’t responded to the LPGA’s playful job offer, it’s not their first attempt to woo the 22 year old basketball star.
Previously, when Clark revealed her off-season golf plans, the tour had enthusiastically reposted her press conference clip saying, “Count us in”. Despite the unlikely prospect of Clark taking up the LPGA’s offer after a record-breaking WNBA debut season, her foray into golf is a refreshing change.
Clark expressed her excitement about participating in November’s LPGA event, stating: “I love golf so the opportunity to play in the Pro-Am for a tournament with a legend like Annika Sorenstam’s name on it is so exciting.”
and added, “I’m looking forward to seeing all the LPGA players on the driving range, being part of the Women’s Leadership Summit, and, of course, teeing it up in the pro-am with Annika.”
